I choose # 4 as I lean toward the idea that it is an altered state of being rather than a "place".  The nearest I've been to the afterlife, I think, was in the spiritually transforming event that is posted in my profile.  During this event I was suddenly oblivious to my earthly surroundings.  I was not unconscious but was intensely conscious of the Spiritual communications.  It was as if nothing else existed. for a few minutes.  the "finale" to the communication was entering into the Loving Light so often described by experiencers.  I believe if I had continued in the Light I would have become a  spiritual being very different in essence and understanding able to "know even as I am known."

Perhaps  this life is, compared to the afterlife, as prebirth existence in the womb to this life experience. As Eugene O'Neill restated a prayer, "Pray for us now and at the hour of our birth."  Maybe there is a new birth  ahead for us in eternity which we cannot fathom while within the boundaries of this temporary time and space existence..

Hello Mary,

Wow, you present an awesome analogy for our relationship to the greater reality. Just as the child is known by the mother, Loved by her, fed through her, and its movements felt by her, so it is with us all. It is akin to what I was saying about the greater reality including our own as well, because though the child has only limited and fleeting perceptions from the reality beyond its environment, it is still a part of that greater environment itself. It isn’t a different dimension that holds its mother, but a more inclusive and unrestrictive view which transcends its limited perceptions. Just as the mother Loves and nurtures the child in anticipation of the day that she will hold it differently so that the child will also know her more completely, our greater reality is anticipating our birth into a more complete knowing and accepting of it too.

Hello Alan:

 

So we wonder where is the Heavens?  Or where are we is just as good a question.  Where is the Universe?

Who are we is a related question.  So how do we answer that?  We as veiled humans simply do not know the answer to that other than what we may have experienced having somehow escaped the bounds of the veil of not knowing.  Or, we are not supposed to know as the humans that we are.  So, I can only go by what others have said and experienced, so here goes.  I would add that as humans, even if we have experienced a beyond the 3D experience, we have to interpret what that experience was in 3D terms, where the proper words are often lacking.  So, it is our interpretation of what we experience.

 

I will simply say that Heaven is right here.  You are only a frequency away, change your frequency, and you will be in another dimension.  Heaven is not just one place, but is various other frequencies.  Heaven is in the Mind of the beholder. 

 

Which brings us another answer.  Everything is in the Mind of God or Source or One.  We are all in the same Mind.  As Bashar says, "there is no out -there, out there".  Our world is an illusion in the imagination of the Mind.  So, some say we are all one.  We are all part of a bigger whole, a Higher Self, which is part of a vaster whole, which is well, don't ask me.  And from our framework, this is all speaking of this Universe, which is a Universe of Light.  There are multitudes of other Universes.  Each has it's own Creator group (God).  

 

And there is no "I".  We should all think of us and everything as "We", as we are all one, and we do not know how many we-s we ourselves are made of.  There are various bodies associated with the "physical" body, not to mention the body itself is made of about 50 trillion cells, and each of those are conscious.  etc, it goes on and on and this is all in the Great Mind.  When we go out of body, we have another self or body perhaps.  And we bring with us out of body various other spiritual aspects of the body, temperament, emotions, our identity that are not really a part of our eternal soul.  Actually, our eternal soul part is the least know.  That part is a real mystery.  That is my understanding anyway.  We really do not know who we are, which is the whole point of being here in the first place.   

 

WE are playing a part, as in a play, here in this creation.  When you go to another dimension, we are still playing the play, just on another level.  And there are infinite levels of play.  So, you should never be bored.  So, "Heaven" is just another level of play.  It is not a forever place to go as is portrayed in lore.  

 

The mind of US God is awesome.  It is beyond me, the actor Daniel, in this play.  My eternal soul, the part beyond the veil, knows, but they are not telling.  I am here to experience being Daniel.  When I am done with that, I will probably play something else.  It may be another life here on the earth 3D, or it may  be somewhere unrelated we prefer.   ???  Some remember having lives as a bubble spirit on a bubble planet.  Pure Bliss and fun interactions.  ???  There is nothing beyond the imagination of We.  

 

Well, those are my conclusions from looking at what others have experienced.  They say there is no time, that is a construct of this 3D life.  They say the past and the future all exist right now.  Well, if people experience past and future lives, they many have visions of this life or they remember choosing this life to live before actually being born, that all makes sense.  It is all orchestrated in the Mind of Us. Exactly how is probably beyond our human ability to comprehend.  Actually, that is the message, we cannot comprehend.  

 

Other humans no doubt have other interpretations of what we cannot comprehend anyway.  Have a go at it.    LOL

Hi beautiful everyones:

 

Somehow I missed reading your replies.  So having read them, I want to add my perspective.  From my observations, the channelings and other communications from the other side are part of the play.  How real they are is a question mark.  We need to remember they are part of the play.  So, from my perspective, what comes from the other side has to be consistent with our part in the play, what we have already agreed to experience.  I have yet to hear any great news worthy insight from the other-side that directly pertains to 3D life.  What we get is what we are supposed to get.  There may be hints here and there, but generally channeling do not rock the existing paradigm.  There may be "accurate" prophecies / visions, but there are so many that are not, that it is impossible to tell if the accurate ones are just "luck" or by random chance.  Very little truth comes thru.  That is because we are to go find the truth ourselves.  Make out own decisions.  Live this life as if it is real.  

 

In the matter of FEAR, False Evidence Appearing Real, if we truly understand our position here, there is very little to fear.  My biggest fear is that I will not like the life I have already chosen to live.  So, I ask or pray to my guardian angels for the most benevolent outcome for things that I anticipate happening in the future.  But we are here to experience.  Some experiences are not what I would call pleasant.  I prefer not to use the words evil or good, for to me all things are of God.  Everything is us.  Evil / Good are labels that humans have invented to label experiences with.  It is a choice.  To me how I react to a situation is how it will be.  I many not have direct choice NOw as to what I experience, but perhaps I have a choice as to how I will react to that experience.  Torture, being hurt, having a wild animal eating my leg, having a dark spirit try to torture me / scare me; one can look at all of these as great experiences, to be recalled after this life is over perhaps as something great.  One can see Love in all these things.  

 

So, I am a bit ambivalent in my attitude toward seeking "truth" from the other side.   Who are angels?  Are they made / sent by our higher self to for-fill a part of the play we are in?  All is imagination.  Do not expect them to speak utmost truth.  Expect them to speak what is expected for the play to be what it is.  If they tell you something that turns out later not to be true, they are not lying anymore than a person speaking a part in a play is lying.  They are doing their job.  

 

The worst is not dying, there is no true death.  Probably the worst is having pain and suffering.  But that can be dealt with as well.  There is always a way.  We come here not just as experiencers, but as co players that some would call teachers.  All parts are required for everyone to experience what they need to.  If I end up in a psych ward, it may be for my experience, but it is also for the experience of the others who are with me and those who have to take care of me.   The play is sacred, and all parts are thus sacred, if you permit me to use that word.  

 

Well, that is my perspective, for what it is worth.

Where are the afterlife realms, the heavens located? Wow, some great responses, you have all triggered my own thinking, thanks! So here is a bit of a brain dump...

 

When you are someplace, everything else seems relative to that point. So if we think of ourselves as being 'here,' then the afterlife, the heavens, are 'there', must be someplace else. However, the here and now are both in the same place as 'there,' we are already embedded in an afterlife, heavenly realm. This life just happens to be very low frequency, a heavy heaven, with total autonomy of the actors. This type of life is a unique existence that allows us to decide how to synchronize with the greater reality. We will construct a unique path and live a one-of-a-kind experience, that is probably an important part of why we come here, simply to be unique!  But as a free will world, we can create a heaven or hell here, when young we are victims of our environment but gradually as we grow and mature we gain the ability to construct our own reality. And we can even branch off, construct new entire directions for our lives that are like stepping into an alternate universe. A type of linear magic almost. This is an amazing life, if we are able to grasp the essence of being here.

 

I have distinct recollection of at least one 'between lives' event, I was sitting in some type of theater looking at a movie of this life, my current life, and I was a little taken back but also accepting. I remember being told things would work out, and I recall thinking this was overly complex. And my life has been a bit difficult and complicated, but I am here right now. The point is, at the time I viewed that 'between life' event, THIS current life was an 'afterlife'. And I am sure that having lived before in other planes of existence and even other lives on this planet (I also remember tidbits from a few of those), this life really is an afterlife, as it is after those lives.

 

My own evaluation of reality is that there is only one existence, as Daniel said, and that existence has properties that allow some type of holographic multiverse to exist in frequency partitions, each creating various entities within self that transform in ways and dimensions we may think of as separate beings living in a linear space/time. But that space and time is a carefully managed, persistent illusion, as are the separate beings. 

 

Here is a simple analogy. Think of a video sitting on YouTube. That video is a sequence of information bits sitting in electronic format on a hard drive. The video itself exists out of time, again, it is just raw information. When you think of a video to watch on YouTube, there is a metaphorical 'match-up' of 'frequency' between yourself and YouTube, you are on the same 'wavelength' as that video, which starts a 'syncronistic' chain of events that happens almost automatically. With little thought your hands type in the words, the video loads, and appears on your viewscreen/monitor. You now may click and watch the video in 'your' timeline, or you may move the video cursor forward (or backwards) and view various frames in any sequence, at any speed you like. While the video is running, you have an illusion that it is happening in your timeline, as if little characters are acting out an event in some universe you are wittnessing. But remember, this is all an illusion! You are just watching a rendering of stored information bits. So where does that illusion exist in space and time? Where is the experience of watching that video located? Is the simulated experience you had, possibly complete with emotional responses, even real? Did anything really happen anywhere that has a real location? Not really, but yet it was real to you and you might respond in many different ways to seeing that video. 

 

I believe heavenly realms are just sequences of information bits sitting in etheric format in the mind of a source being of which we are all parts.  We traverse between realms by changing our frequencies, starting synchronicstic chains of events, moving the life cursor around from time to time, and responding to the illusions around us in various ways. This is the reality behind life experiences. We actually can live in any reality or universe we want to, and are doing that with this life experience we are having right now. In fact, even within this brief 'mortal' reality we can choose to live in a variety of available universes, within the limits of the moral and mortal frameworks we can find here. But not all frameworks are alike, some are more sustainable than others, some more pleasurable or miserable than others, some more enlightening than others, some more connected with people than others, etc.

Happy to see this discussion continuing.  I know a small part of this, it's so tiny :) that to hear from you all really helps me better understand the experiences I've had.  Daniel and Kurt both your posts were great reads!!!  Glad to see you're in on the discussion.  Share more, I'm a greedy reader ;)

Not to get too technical but since it's a technical question...

A concept like "location" exists here in the physical because we collectively agree that time and space exist.  If "space" exists then a concept like "location" comes into play.  Technically speaking, time and space are only illusions of our own physically limited existence.

One of the features of a true spiritual experience is the awareness of infinity or eternity or what I like to refer to as the eternal Loving Light.  Concepts like space and time just don't exist in the true reality.

Heaven isn't out there somewhere.  Heaven and the true spiritual realms are here and accessible at any given time.  Some folks(especially a number of folks on ndespace.org) have experienced that through what we have agreed to call a "Near Death Experience".  Others have experienced it is some other fashion that didn't include actually being dead or near physically dead.  I guess you could say that I've been one of the fortunate(although some wouldn't consider my painful experience so fortunate) enough to have had both kinds of experiences.   

To be perfectly frank, I've had a large number of experiences that would qualify as "near death" quality.  To be even more candid, I haven't talked about most of them yet.  I probably will at some point, but the situation has got to feel right, and right now, I don't get that feeling. I did, one time, attempt to reveal those experiences to psychologists and psychiatrists.  As a result, I was told point blank that I was in immense danger of commiting suicide.  The bizarre thing about that evaluation was that I've never, ever had such thoughts...not even once.  The treatment and dire warnings I received from those "professionals" have taught me to be very judicious about who I share my experiences with.

The simplist way I can explain that heaven isn't found in a location out there somewhere is to help folks understand that you don't "have a Soul".  YOU ARE SOUL. I am Soul.  As Soul, I have a number of sheaths(bodies) that I can use to interact with my environment; my physical environment, my emotional environment, and my mental environment.  As Soul, I don't have an "environment" in the normal sense.  As Soul, I am Spirit.  As Soul, I'm am a spark of the divine eternal Loving Light.  And since that state of existence doesn't have any limitation, I, as Soul, am eternal.

And so are you.

right here on earth. The "afterlife" is merely a return to the source, due to our inability to be on the same love level as the source we are repelled back toward the realm of incarnation. Depending on how much purification and learning we do down here, then our consciousness "ascends" to less dense states of awareness. In the west our systems aren't set up for spiritual work on an ongoing basis, so the incarnation process is slow and many of us have been here thousands of times in the same "envelope" of suffering or learning as the previous life.
