- My mother carried a heavy burden that she shared with me. She had died in a drowning along with her younger brother and sister while playing on a frozen pond. She'd been revived after 20 minutes and come back but no memory of the NDE was shared. It was something that to this day she doesn't speak about often, only at certain times. It was a drowning in which her younger sister Etna died on a frozen pond in Ireland and my mom and her brother Nick were revived from. The morning of the drowning Etna told my mother she had a dream that if their father didn't pay the taxes that she'd drown and that the angels in her dream had told her not to worry it would be painless. ( my grandfather was part of an Irish organization very political in the early 1900's prior to Ireland getting it's independence and my grandfather decided not to pay his taxes over a disagreement with the local church of Ireland that the Irish at the time were against because it was run by the Brits and my grandfather was an early IRA member and against the British government, that's all I know. Anyway Etna described many things to my mother. My mother doesn't speak of this freely. Etna said the music was beautiful and the angels were all around her and she had had no fear. So Etna dies. This effects my mother and she talks to me about my dreams which I being little would share with my mother. They began about 3 years old. Vivid and beautiful dreams. I was in wonderland often tigers, bears and cows seemed to always be in my dreams. But every few dreams there were dark dreams. I was little and would see a beast. It couldn't touch me. I knew this even in my dream. But it was stalking me, awaiting an opening. So I took care to not give it much attention. In my dreams I'd know it was there and learned to ignore it until it went away or at least I haven't seen it in my dreams since I was about 8 but prior to that very regularily. I felt grateful, happy. My dreams then turned to meeting spirits who had recently passed. They never spoke with me or tried to speak with me but they would hover over my bed, at least one time I saw their faces. It was 4 or 5 marines. I woke up startled, felt very afraid. I knew something was in the room with me then they appeared. Just their faces and a slight outline of their shoulders. I think it was 5 of them but I didn't write this dream down. I was 12 and not really wanting to accept this. So I wake up, feel creepy see their faces and they hung out for maybe 2 minutes just long enough that I knew this was happening then slowly faded away. I went back to sleep. The sensation of someone in my room gone I felt peaceful. I didn't feel they had meant me harm. What I felt was so odd it was as if they being in Canada and me in California had died while I was just about to awaken anyway but as if they caught my light and mistakenly were drawn to it then realized I was a child and comforted me then continued their path. They were young marines and when I awaken it was on the news. Helicopter crash and the same faces I saw were the faces of the young soldiers. It wasn't wartime, a training maneuver gone bad. So I knew early in life from my mother's experiences and other relatives in her family reported seeing hearing things but none of us were psychic in the sense of the word.
I dreamt about a train accident it was on the east coast, similiar to the Canada dream, while I dreamt my childlike rendition of the death and it wasn't scary in my dream. It was more an acknowledgement of the departed soul. I wasn't a major player just some random light it grabbed upon it's ascent. That's my conclusion from these dreams. I have no idea if I am right but something tells me that's what it is. Rarely do they interact with me. I am more there, like the grass is there, but not a significant part of the ascent of the person.
It's hard to dig for me. I don't understand it all. But I know that the love we share is the love that saves us. It's not what we get but what we leave here that ascends us higher. I have no idea how I know this but to my core I feel it's true.
I am almost afraid to know more. But here I am pulled by all of you. Thank you :)
I know I was protected once, perhaps many more times but one time in a motorcycle accident I know I wasn't alone. We should have died but I had no fear as the bike tipped left and we hit the highway I just was told "keep your head up" I did and skidded down the freeway about 25 feet or so. In my memory it seems it lasted 2 minutes. I also experienced the passing of a dying friend's soul through me seconds after she passed. It felt warm and comforting. I'd been crying hysterically, she was only 27 and died of a brain aneurysm so it was a shock. Instantly I felt her love, she was letting me know she was okay.
I am very interested in hearing the experiences of others who have had experiences beyond mine.

I sit here crying for me, not Lindsey who is on his way to meet our creator. That song by Toby Keith says it all. Lindsey has lived a wonderful, fun and sweet life. I never saw him get cross with anyone. Picture a tall dark haired southern gentleman with perfect manners and an easy and handsome smile, that's Lindsey.
He is 85 and his beautiful wife Nicole is a very young and active 78. I'm going to see them tomorrow. Tonight I got that call to come now he's leaving…

You want to ignore it and pretend it's not happening. I cannot protect anyone or warn them. When I go to sleep I don't always dream of accidents but periodically I do on a regular basis. I see the event, it's always an accident, never a long term suffering deal, and it's usually a single death, one dream was 5 marines but all the others were single deaths. I come here to this board because my mother had an NDE when she was 9. Her younger sister died. Actually Frances.....I don't think we are related accept through Adam and Eve.......my father was adopted by some Murphy's in Alaska.....and they found him as a young boy in Canada.
